John Bidwell
I recently retired as a GP in Darwen. I was brought up as a church attender but never believing the good new of Jesus. I went to university and became a convinced atheist. I thought that science would eventually explain everything and there was no god.
In my early 30's I began to realise that there was a
spiritual dimension to life but what is was I did not know. I began a spiritual search in
things like yoga and developed an interest in the occult not in a spooky sense but this was part of the spiritual
dimension that I was exploring.
After 2 years of this I was prompted somewhere in my brain to explore Jesus, who was he, and why was he important. After reading a book which set out to prove that the Gospel books of the Bible were true, I became convinced that they were in fact truth.
I knew then that science could not explain everything and in fact there is a world of difference between provable experimental science and science that delves into the past which is unprovable and based on unprovable assumptions. I am talking about origins of the universe and origins of life. I am convinced that there is an intelligent creator behind the creation, he is the God of the Bible who sent his son Jesus to die for me, and that he is my saviour. These truths are expanded elsewhere in this web site, so I won't go on.
