Ian sat in an aircraftFlight Lieutenant Ian Ferguson and his navigator took off in their Phantom from RAF Conningby, in Lincolnshire on 7th January 1986 not knowing that he would not be landing his state of the art fighter. Over the Yorkshire dales his aircraft started to behave in a peculiar way. It would not respond to the controls and instead was screaming in a dive towards the ground.

At just 250 feet from the ground, Ian had to eject, and his aircraft slammed into Buckden Pike.

He puts his survival down to God. Come and hear his story.
